Openings around windows, doors, pipes and wiring are sealed against drafts and moisture. Attic insulation and framing details are inspected in the hard-to-reach places that are easy to skip. Every home carries R-38 ceiling insulation, Low-E double-pane windows, insulated exterior doors and a Trane HVAC system designed for that specific plan.
What it means for the homeowner. Right Choice homes qualify for the lowest residential electric rate from Jackson EMC, worth roughly 5% off the annual bill for the life of the home. The program also carries a three-year energy warranty guaranteeing that heating and cooling costs stay below a set annual amount.
